There are many shows throughout the year. They can be found through the MCBA and Empress links. They are a great way
to really judge the quality of your animals.
Below are the results from the recent shows we've been to:
2008 York:
Colette was shown in the baby class at only 3 months of age. She took a 1st which was
better than I expected for her small size. I'm really hoping she does well next year as an adult.
2008 Nationals:
Although I attended the 2008 Nationals, I didn't show anything this year. It was
a great experience though.
2008 New York/New England Show:
Colette took Reserve Champion Female of Show and Ashe took a second. Ashe was in breeding up to the
show and at a few years old, I was happy with his placing. I also picked up a new white female that took Section Champion.
2009 Nationals
Colette took Reserve Champion Ebony Section Female.
2009 York:
Unfortunately the only chinchilla we were planning on showing wasn't able to make it
to the show.
2009 New York/New England Show:
Dash, out of Shade and Ashe, received Reserve Champion White
Section Male at only 5 months of age.
One of the animals we bred earlier in the year, out of Char and Sheina, was shown and took Reserve
Champion Ebony Section Female.
2010 Nationals:
One of the animals we bred earlier in the year, out of Char and Sheina, was shown and took Reserve
Phase Champion White Mosaic Female at only 5 months.
2010 York:
We didn't hold enough animals from our breedings during 2009 so we had nothing to show. It's still a lot
of fun to go but it's always more fun to have something in the show.
2010 New York/ New England:
Our whites did really well. We took Reserve Champion White Male and Reserve Champion White Female. I also
had a color phase champion. All of the chins were young, so I was thrilled with their placings.
2011 Nationals: One of our white girls got a 2nd place which wasn't horrible since she's only a few months
old. I will be showing her at York in a couple weeks.
2011 York:
I only showed one white female and she did very well with a first place. I also bought the Grand Show
Champion after the show to breed with a couple of my ebony girls.
